Crushed Stone

Please read the Shipping Terms & Information page
regarding shipping charges before ordering.

Crushed stone is an excellent material to use as an inlay material.  I personally prefer the use of crushed stone over metal shavings (brass, aluminum, etc.) as the stone adds much more warmth and personality (see pictures below).  Turquoise ("Sleeping Beauty" - mostly green), chrysocolla (a brilliant blue) and malachite (green) can be used to fill voids and cracks or placed into grooves (purposely cut) to enhance your project.  Instructions for use are included with every order.

There has been a major increase in the price of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, Chrysocolla and Azurite due to the increased popularity and demand for Southwest Indian jewelry.  These three minerals are favorites among jewelry makers and we had to raise our prices in order to keep up with the cost of these raw materials.

We purchase whole nuggets of each type of stone and then manually crush them. The material is then sifted through various sized screens to come up with the different sizes.  We offer the following sizes:

Extra Fine - a fine powder   Fine - consistency of very fine beach sand
Medium - heavy beach sand   Coarse - chips 3/32" +/- in size
Stone -
chips 1/8" +/- in size

Please keep in mind that the color of the stone (i.e. turquoise, malachite, etc.) can vary from one batch to the next.  Mother Nature like to keep us guessing but we make every effort to supply a consistent color in each type of stone.

To purchase crushed stone, simply click on any of the crushed stone links below and from there you can choose your desired size.  Prices do not include shipping.  I use Priority Mail for these items and the normal Priority Mail shipping charge is $4.60 (not including insurance) and a lot of stone can be packed into one of the large video boxes supplied by the USPS (please read the Shipping Terms & Information page regarding shipping charges before ordering).  Be aware that UPS shipping is more expensive than Priority Mail in most instances.

All of the crushed stone shown below is sold in one (1) ounce bags (approximately two teaspoons).

To order crushed stone click on the blue links below the photos.

Please keep in mind that the color of the different stone pictured below can be different from what you may actually receive.  Your monitor's settings, Mother Nature, the glue used to set the stone, etc. can affect the final color.  I cannot nor will I guarantee a particular color and/or shade of stone.
