Newly Reduced Warehouse Clearance Items!

The DC Pen Show is over, and it is back to work time. We are still cleaning the warehouse and Cole found a few more pen kits, and some  Gemstone Pen Blanks hiding in a corner, so we placed them in the Specials Section.  Speaking of Gemstones, we have replenished our stock of them and added a new popular Gemstone – White Marble.

The new Pen Turning DVD is having brisk sales, and Michael wants to continue to offer the Special Introductory price of $19.95 & free shipping for the next few days.  He twisted my arm, so we will extend it for a little while longer. Act now, my arm can only take so much twisting!

It’s back into the shop to start making some more pens for the marathon three weeks of shows in October! I’ll be a busy guy -oops, I mean a BUSIER guy!

Happy Turning –

The Washington DC Pen Show has come and gone and this years show was one of the best.  It was well attended in spite of being one week later than it normally is held.  All the vendors said it was one of their best shows of the year.  Sales were good on Friday but Saturday was very busy all day long and Sunday was the usual day, not too busy but still sold some pens.

The Sailor Pen Co. was next to me and let me hold one of their signature Maki-e hand painted pens.  This pen sells for $32,000!

The detail work on this pen is incredible – I tried to put it into my pocket but it did not fit so I gave it back to them!

So, now I am now back in the warehouse helping with orders and restocking the shelves and adding new items for sale.  Stay tuned for a list of the new items….

Warehouse Clearance Specials!

I’m running around, and getting everything ready to go to the Washington DC pen show this weekend.

While going through the warehouse and gathering some pen boxes and stands for my displays,  I saw that we have a LOT of kits here too. We need to move these because  I screwed up, and ordered too many pen kits! I need to make room for some other  items, so we are blowing some of these kits out at ridiculous prices!

BHW485_274x274The first kit that I’m discounting is the poplar Rinehart rollerball in chrome or upgrade gold. The list price of $16.95 is now only $10.50 each, saving you over 38%!  If you want a fountain pen, then the Rinehart fountain pen in chrome or upgrade gold – list price of $17.95 now only $10.50 each saving  you over 42%!
This is more money in YOUR pocket when you sell these beautiful pens.

As I come across more overstocked “stuff”, I will be adding them to our clearance section:

It’s HOT!!!

This weekend I am in my shop and it is very hot – like Tropical hot!  It is 95 degrees, the humidity is 80%, and I am melting in my shop!

I am casting my watch parts, surgical knives and abalone shell pens in clear acrylic for the Washington, DC Pen Show that is coming up next weekend.

When it is this hot,  I have to cut down on the number of drops of hardener I use for my castings.  The more hardener you use the faster the acrylic sets up.  With the additional temperature being that hot, the castings set up even faster!  This will cause a problem later when you turn them, they will be more brittle and can shatter more easily! So the solution is to cut down on the number of drops and let the casting harden more slowly producing less heat (you have enough external heat being 95 degrees!).

Speaking of heat, we are still running the “hot” specials on the Jar Openers , Pizza Cutters and the latest item Napkin Ring Holders until Monday so take advantage and stock up on these items.  You can make them later when it is not so hot!

Okay, enough cooling off for me in the house.  I’m going back in the shop to finish my pens and other turnings!

Happy turning!
