Rainy Day Blues!

Rainy Day Blues in the Berkshires!

Rainy Day Blues in the Berkshires!

This past 4th of July weekend I attended the Berkshire Arts Festival.  Last year over 4th of July at this same show, it rained one day but it was still a great turn out and one of my best shows selling over 60 pens!  This year was a different story! You can see from the picture that it was not well attended on Saturday at 2:00 PM – one person can be seen walking around!  You can not predict the weather – it was supposed to be in the low 80’s and sunny – NOT – it was in the low 60’s and raining all day.  With the 4th of July falling on Saturday like it did, people did not attend the show in the numbers they did the previous year.  With that said, I still did fairly well selling over 35 pens in total with a few pepper grinders and bangle bracelets thrown into the mix, I can not complain.

The big sellers were the new flame kit on a gear shift pen!  I took 5 of them and they all went!  The Lever Action pens with antler sold well and the bolt action continue to perform well.  The acrylic casted pens always do well because they are unusual.  So, all in all we did well but could have done better if the weather cooperated a little more.

Finally, I wanted to let you all know that we just arrived with a new shipment of Polymer Clay pen blanks and they went up on the website and within 15 minutes 4 were gone! So get them while you can- Happy turning – Barry
