New Acrywood Pen Blanks Added

Outdoor booth/under tent at NY Art Show

Outdoor booth/under tent at NY Art Show

It was a mildly successful show this past weekend in Long Island, NY at the Nassau County Museum of Art show. My booth was set up as an outdoor booth, but it was under a tent so we had electricity.  I say it was “mildly successful” because the promoter, at the last minute, added another tented area, and directed the flow of people around the tent instead of through the tent.  ALL the vendors inside this 2nd tent were wondering why the crowds were not larger, and then we realized that the flow of people were being directed elsewhere! They corrected the flow of traffic for Sunday but we lost the whole day Saturday, and could not really make up for it.
Don’t get me wrong, I still did well, but could have done a lot better.  Some of my neighbors did not even make their booth fee! No sense crying over what could have been,  so on to the next show in two weeks – and start making some more pens to replace the ones that I sold.

Speaking of strong selling pens, one of my best sellers still remains the Acrywood pen blanks on a Majestic Jr. or Baron Style pen.  Speaking of Acrywoods, we just received six (6) new color combinations of Acrywoods and they are really nice!  I sold all of the Nickel Lever Action pens, and five of the Brass Lever Action Pens.  The laser inlay kits always sell well, and a few of my favorites are still the American Flag and the new American Bald Eagle.

Well that’s it  for now – back into the shop to get ready for Paradise City Arts Festival in Northampton, MA next weekend.
Happy Turning,

CBN - Cubic Boron Nitride - Grinding Wheel

CBN – Cubic Boron Nitride – Grinding Wheel

CBN (cubic boron nitride) Grinding / Sharpening Wheels are the State-of-the-Art for sharpening high-speed steel tools. These wheels are manufactured from a solid piece of 6061 aircraft grade aluminum that are then electroplated and nickel coated creating a more aggressive bond to secure the abrasive to the wheel.
We believe in our wheels so much, we offer a LIFETIME WARRANTY with each wheel!
CBN wheels will make aluminum oxide (AO) grinding wheels obsolete! CBN wheels stay cooler, cut faster and do not require dressing or shaping like normal aluminum oxide wheels. In industrial grinding applications where heat is generated, CBN is preferred over diamond wheels.
These are the last sharpening wheels you will ever need!
Available in 2 versions – Click either link below for more info:

New Antique Nickel Lever Action Pen Kits now 10% off!

Antique Nickel Lever Action Pen

Antique Nickel Lever Action Pen

Earlier this week we started taking pre-orders for the new Antique Nickel Lever Action Pen Kits. It just happened to be right before our store-wide 10% off Anniversary sale. Since they were a brand new product, I decided that they *probably* should stay at their regular price, so I excluded them from the sale.

Boy, was I wrong, and Lenora let me know about it!
She said that of course they should be on sale with the other products! So just to be fair, all the people who pre-ordered the pens also got the 10% discount.

Hopefully, this will now get me out of the doghouse.

So, now it’s an even better time to get the new Nickel finish version of the hottest selling pen style. The Antique Brass version has already proven to be an incredibly popular seller at pen shows & fine craft shows. The Nickel finish will give your customers a hard decision about which one to choose.

The 3rd Anniversary Sale will end on Sept. 8, 2015 so it’s a good excuse to stock up for the show season, and the upcoming holidays – they’re closer than you think! (If you don’t believe me, just look at all the Halloween stuff in the stores)

You will want to get these NOW, because our next shipment is not coming in until November, and it may be too late by then.click-here-BUY-button

Lever Action Click Mechanism – not clicking? – Quick Fix!

This is an easy fix for a “sticky” click mechanism.

With thousands of Lever Action pen kits sold, we have had only a few “sticky” click mechanisms, and even those have been fixed in the field!  Every now and then, any click mechanism may slip out of alignment and not click properly.

If you look down the center of the inside of the lever action click mechanism you will see four little white “arms” that stick out.  (Photo below left)

Take a paperclip that has a slight hook on the end, and slide it behind one of the little arms and pull it up.  “Jiggle” it a little bit. It should fall back into place, and you have now repaired the click mechanism – see I told you it was an easy fix!
